A Happy New Year to all of you and thank you again for all your support in 2017. I hope that this year will be an exciting one for Casa Fina as we have some new ideas for involving you in what we do especially as we move towards next Christmas. With the new year come the many trade shows that we visit in order to find new products for the shop and this spring we will be hoping to find some beautiful lamps and shades, new prints and mirrors and of course some gorgeous antique and vintage pieces.

The post Christmas sale continues into January and new bargains will be added each day until it ends. There are reductions on home fragrance, battery operated string lights, scarves, Katie Loxton and much more.

New Emma Bridgewater

The Spring pieces will be coming into the shop in a couple of weeks. There is a lovely new range called pink pansy which will be just perfect for Mothers' Day as it includes a new 'Mum' mug (the pink hearts 'Mummy' has been reintroduced for those of you who've missed it.)

The small milk bottle is back along with new flowers, dogs and a great new Bath 1/2 pint mug - let's hope 'Salisbury' is next on the list!

Until the new pieces arrive in a couple of weeks we will have reductions on some of our remaining stock.

New India Jane V&A Collection

India Jane have partnered with the V&A museum and have developed a range of ceramics, trays and glasses inspired by their archives. The Victoria & Albert museum is the world's largest museum of  decorative arts and design and houses a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects - it must have been quite a task deciding which patterns to choose!

Vintage notes - Custard cups

We have a selection of really pretty custard cups for sale and are often asked what they are for. Here's a summary of what we've learned. Syllabubs of frothy whipped cream infused with spice and added to wine or sherry were served in glass cups. The ones we generally have in stock are Victorian - squat, sometimes with a stem and with a foot and handle. These decorative pieces are now sought after by hostesses keen to serve lemon posset at their dinner parties. This is wonderful as it is as near to their original use as we are going to get in the 21st Century and it's proof that antique pieces can be practical as well as beautiful.
